APOCALYPTICA: New Video Interview Available
January 5, 2009René Ackermann of Contraband Candy conducted an interview with the Finnish rock cello quartet APOCALYPTICA when the group played the Astoria in London, England on December 12, 2008. Watch the chat below.
APOCALYPTICA scored its first No. 1 rock radio hit in November with "I Don't Care", the latest single from the band's sixth studio album, "Worlds Collide". The disc has sold 172,000 copies in the U.S. and marks the group's first significant success in this country in APOCALYPTICA's 15-year career. Paavo Lotjonen told The Pulse of Radio that their newfound recognition has been worth all the effort. "It's been really amazing, all the success we have got," he said. "Of course it has taken a lot of work and we have given our heart to this. But I feel that it's been worth that and we have reached something new."
"I Don't Care" features guest vocals from THREE DAYS GRACE frontman Adam Gontier.
SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor contributed vocals to the CD's first single, "I'm Not Jesus".
"I Don't Care" replaced METALLICA's "The Day That Never Comes" at the top of the rock chart. Ironically, APOCALYPTICA's debut disc was a collection of METALLICA covers, "Plays Metallica by Four Cellos".
